Welcome Back!

Each school year brings new challenges to our students, teachers, parents and administrators.  Our challenges are to bring fidelity and rigor to each of our classrooms.  Fidelity meaning that our instructors will use the instructional strategies and deliver the content of the curriculums in the same way they were designed to be used and delivered and rigor meaning instruction, schoolwork, learning experiences and educational experiences that are challenging to and for the student.   As an example, we will be asking our students to think deeper on a subject rather than just memorizing the content.

We have been able to bring the music program back with the hiring of Joel Dodd, adding ceramics and screen printing to our list of electives and graphic design as a new course.  We are in the process of having a new program in place by second semester as well.

For the Alternative Education department, we will be moving to using Edgenuity as our base curriculum for credit recovery.  The presentations will be more lifelike, in that a teacher will be speaking and the student has the ability to rewind what was said as one of the functions of this platform.  We feel that Edgenuity will provide a more rigorous curriculum while at the same time allowing the student to work at a pace that is comfortable for them.

We will be looking forward to seeing you at "Back to School Night" on August 18 and at other times that are convienent for you.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at the school through the telephone or e-mail.  Both of these will be provided after my signature below.
