Hopi Jr. / Sr. High School's last reported Adequate Yearly Progree (AYP) status for the 2012-2013 School Year by theBureau of Indian Education (BIE)


Hopi Jr./Sr. High School is looking for one parent volunteer who would like to sit on the school's Technology Team.  Meetings will be held after school.  Call the Federal Programs Department for more information.  


Goals for Federal Programs

  • Federal Programs will ensure fiscal and programmatic compliance with state, federal, and local regulation in applying for, implementing, and monitoring programs and funds;  
  • Partners with staff and parents to improve parental involvement by establishing effective communication among all stakeholders, establish activities that include all stakeholders, and encourage all stakeholders to participate in planning teams for school involvement;
  • Partner with resource staff at the Hopi Tribe and Hopi Agency to serve as a liaison to the school and related staff in proper implementation and evaluation of programs.

Title I: NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND ACT (NCLBA)

  • Major focus of NCLBA is to improve reading and math achievement, and has refocused attention to PARENT INVOLVEMENT;
  • Title I supports activities to change the total school cultural on continuous progress and improvement for all students.
In addition to Title I, the law also includes the following programs that is adapted to the school's need
  • Title II - A: High Qualified Teachers & Paraprofessionals
Teacher and Principal Training and Recruiting Fund provides grants to State Educational
agencies, local educational agencies, State agencies for higher education, and eligible
partnerships to increase student achievement through strategies such as improving
teacher and principals quality and increasing the number of highly qualified teachers in
the classroom and highly qualified principals and assistant principals in schools.
  • Title II - D: Technology Integration in Classrooms
Enhancing Education through Technology provides assistance for the implementatio
and support of a comprehensive system that effectively uses technology in elementary
schools and seconday schools to improve student academic achievement.
